My parents celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary yesterday and are happier with each other than ever.

How did it turn out that I see little point in getting married beyond legal benefits? The world may never know.

The legal benefits are nice. But really, if you're not into it, no need. If you decide to settle with someone(s), look into domestic partner stuff.
