So I was talking with anoneknewmoose and in the course of one of our typical conversations, I stated:

I'm sure there were teenage boys who got anticipatory hard ons whenever they heard the "EEEE EEEE EEE BA DOING GA DOING" sound

which caused me to wonder:

It was more kind of like add the noise of opening a bottle of soft drink to the "EEEE EEEE EEE BA DOING GA DOING" and you've got it.

I have no idea how to describe the sound that came after the ba doing ga doing ga part. I was hoping someone else would do it. It always sounded kind of like a monster roaring into a wind tunnel to me or something "HWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAA AWAAAAAA"

And I just heard it last night because someone I was having dinner with had a WAV of it on his iPhone that he wants to make into a ringtone. XDDDD He played it and we reminisced heartily about how you could tell from the tones whether you'd gotten a higher-speed connection or not. The other two (younger) members of the party just stared at us.
